He, however, alleged that the arrest was politically motivated by his political opponents .The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) on Friday condemned the arrest of its former National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The party in a statement signed by its Deputy National Secretary, Chief Jerry Obasi, said the arrest was politically motivated by his opponents in the forthcoming Anambra Central Senatorial re-run election in a bid to prevent his impending victory at the polls.

Umeh was arrested in his Aguluzigbo country home in Anambra State on Thursday and later whisked to Abuja for questioning on his alleged sponsorship of the pro-Biafra group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
