Fidelity Bank Appoints, Balarabe, New Acting MD..His pix & c.v

Balarabe &OkonkwoIn the absence of the Managing Director/Chief Executive, Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo, the Board of Directors of Fidelity Bank Plc has appointed the Executive Director, North, Alhaji Mohammed Lawal Balarabe, as the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc.

A statement issued this night by Fidelity bank said the appointment is “with immediate effect subject to regulatory approval.”

“The Bank reassures all its stakeholders including over 400,000 shareholders of its continued seamless services,” the statement said.Mr. Mohammed Lawal Balarabe serves as an Executive Director of North Directorate at Fidelity Bank Plc and served as its Executive Director of Commercial and Consumer Banking – North Directorate since April 24, 2012.

Mr. Balarabe has been an Executive Director of Oceanic Bank International Plc since October 2, 2009. Mr. Balarabe served as a Deputy General Manager and Regional Bank Head of North East of United Bank for Africa Plc. Mr. Balarabe has been an Executive Director .

.Mr. Mohammed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and Finance from  Nottingham Trent University, as well as a  Master of Science degree in Finance from the University of Lagos. A dealing member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange since 1992, Mohammed was an Executive Director with the former Oceanic Bank Plc.

He was also a General Manager in the United Bank for Africa (UBA) and had been the General Manager & Chief Executive of Newdevco Finance Services Company Limited. He has over 24 years banking experience across business portfolios covering Retail, Corporate and Commercial banking.
