A lawmaker suspended by the House of Representatives, Abdulmunin Jibrin, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to resign.
In a series of tweets, Jibrin advised the President to resign so he could take care of his health.
He says he is convinced the president is ill and needs time to rest.
“PMB should opt for or encourage to accept a negotiated exit. The country cannot afford a sort of part time president at this time,” Jibrin tweeted Friday evening.
“The president I see on camera needs full home care not office, moderately quiet life, enough rest and quality time with his family.
“Life and health belongs to God but the more I see pictures of Mr President, the more I am convinced he needs to go and rest. He needs it!”
Buhari had earlier this month admitted his ill health.
Speaking during a meeting with attended by some state governors and top officials of his party, the All Progressives Congress, Buhari said he had never been ‘so sick’ in his life.
He revealed that he underwent lots of tests and even had a blood transfusion.
“I have rested as much as humanly possible, I have received I think the best of treatment I could receive. I couldn’t recall being so sick since I was a young man, including the military with its ups and downs. I found out that technology is going so fast,” he said.
