James Bond Actor dies at 96

Actor Clifton James, a.k.a 07, who starred as Sheriff JW Pepper in two James Bond films, is reported to have died at the age of 96.

Jame acted alongside Sir Roger Moore in the Bond films Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun during the 1970s.

According to his Wikipedia page “James became well known for playing the comic-relief role of Louisiana Sheriff J.W. Pepper in the James Bond films Live and Let Die (1973) and The Man with the Golden Gun (1974).

He also played a very similar character in both Silver Streak (1976) and Superman II (1980), and had a more serious role in The Reivers (1969).”

James was born   George Clifton James in May 29, 1920 at Spokane, Washington, U.S. and he Died  in April 15, 2017 (aged 96) at Gladstone, Oregon, U.S.

The actor who had five children had appeared in quite a number of movies some of which are: The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990) as Albert Fox, Lone Star (1996) as Hollis, Sunshine State (2002) as Buster Bidwell, Old Soldiers (2017) as Bill Wilder amongst others.

Sir Roger Moore who played James Bond in both movies, took to twitter to pay tribute to the late actor.

He wrote: “Terribly sad to hear Clifton James has left us. As JW Pepper he gave my first two Bond films a great, fun character”.
