What was Ali Modu Sheriff discussing with Buhari for over 1 hr ?

A former governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, yesterday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, which held behind closed doors in the president’s office, lasted about one hour.

Sheriff, a former caretaker committee chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), arrived the villa at about 2:40pm and left at 3:45pm.

After the meeting, Sheriff exchanged pleasantries with some state governors who had earlier attended a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

He, however, evaded State House correspondents who were waiting to know his mission to the villa.

This was Sheriff’s first meeting with President Buhari since he was ousted as PDP caretaker committee chairman.

He had met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on September 22, 2017.

The national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had last month asked Sheriff, who had interest in joining the party in Abuja, to do so at his ward.
