Sokoto State Police Command yesterday confirmed that gunmen attacked a community in Illela Local Government Area of the state.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sanusi, the gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked a community in Sokoto killing the village head of Tunga and two others in Illela LGA of the state on Wednesday.
He said the command had dispatched men of Operation Puff Adder to the areas
We learnt that that the bandits attacked the village during the sunset prayer on Wednesday.
He further disclosed that the attackers operated unchallenged for more than an hour before they left.
