“Okorocha has been arrested by our men”
The above terse admission by a senior official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC confirms the news making the round that former Governor of Imo State ,Rochas Okorocha is in the hands of the Country’s Anti-Corruption agency .
Okorocha according to sources was picked up at his Abuja private office following a five hour stand off with operatives of the EFCC on Tuesday April 13, 2021.
The Senator from Imo State will be quizzed over allegations of money laundering and conversion of public properties to private use.
He will also answer for his eight year rule in Imo State and several allegations trailing some of his acts as Governor .
Okorocha’s latest arrest is coming weeks after operatives of the Imo State Police Command arrested him in February for allegedly unsealing Spring Palm Estate linked to his wife, Nkechi.
The Imo State Government sealed the estate and other properties it claimed to have been “diverted” by Okorocha and his family members but the Senator has since said the properties were legitimately his own and that of his family members.
The ex-governor has been at loggerheads with his successor, Hope Uzodinma, who has vowed to recover all “diverted” assets
