The Senate on Thursday directed its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to issue a warrant of arrest on former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision, Ibrahim Lamorde.
Lamorde had refused to honour several invitations of the Committee to answer charges brought against him while in office.
Specifically he was accused of diversion of N1 trillion recovered loot.
The Chairman of the Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Senator Sam Anyawu, while presenting the report of the Committee to the Senate, requested for a warrant of arrest on Larmode.
Anyanwu’s prayer was granted.
