Zenith Bank has awarded scholarship worth N2.5 million to 10 selected pupils from public schools across Katsina State.
The beneficiaries of the scholarship who were selected from ten council areas of the state, including Masari’s Kafur LG, got two-hundred and fifty thousand naira each.
Speaking at the presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries, Governor Masari lauded Zenith Bank for the support insisting that the best investment was that which focused on education.
“Investment in education is the sure way to end poverty”Masari said adding that “the fight against poverty, corruption and diseases can best be won through education”
He urged the donor institution to ensure that mothers were involved so as to make for proper and judicious utilisation of the scholarship fund.
While lauding the donor for partnering with the state in repositioning education, Masari enjoined the financial institution to accord priority to girl -child when next support on education is being considered.
