Zenith Bank Plc has supported Jigawa state government with the N10m cash for the upgrading of Staff biometrics Data to weed out ghost workers in the state.
This was disclosed by the General Manager, Group Zonal Headquarters, Abuja, Umar Ahmed while presenting a key of 16-seater Nissan Urban Bus to governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar of the State.
The Group Zonal Manager explained that the gesture was part of the corporate social responsibility of the Bank to the state, he added that the Bank has been partaking actively in supporting various programmes of the state government through its social Corporate responsibility since its inception in 2005.
According to him the Bank participated in construction, rehabilitation and supply of computers, books and furniture in selected schools in the state such as GGSS Garki, Bamaina Academy, adding in GGSS Garki alone the Bank renovated 34 class rooms, Laboratory, Administrative Block.
He added that the bank also supported the implementation of electronic payment platform of the state’s ministry of finance and economic planing with provision of Internet access and supply of 10 computers to increase effectiveness and efficiency in the financial transactions.
He however commended the people and Government of Jigawa state for the believing in them and giving enabling environment to contribute their quota in the development of the state.
Responding, Governor Badaru expressed his pleasure over the gesture to his administration.
Governor Badaru noted that the contribution of Zenith Bank in Education, and other sectors in his administration is commendable.
The governor explained that his administration accorded priority to offer enabling environment for private sector to invest in Jigawa state.
