Kidnappers release UBEC Chairman,daughter ,after paying N25 m ransom

Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Mohammad Abubakar and his daughter have regained their freedom from kidnappers’ den.

Sources said they was released around 1:00 P.m. after N25 million ransom was allegedly paid to the kidnappers.

Police Spokesperson, Kaduna State Command, DSP Yakubu Sabo, was yet to respond to calls and text messages as at the time of filing this report.
Alhaji Abubakar’s driver was killed and two other persons injured during the abdution which occurred at about 3:30 p.m. in Kurmin Kare village, Kaduna, on Monday.
