Electronic voting in South Africa incites Nigerians to jealousy

This is the collation centre of the South African national elections held yesterday. Results are electronically transmitted to this centre where parties and their agents can monitor and know how they are performing.

This giant screen is where results are displayed and parties have access to it immediately. No one even did manual counting at voting centres across the country.

In fact, results are due any moment from now.

Now, let us come back home. Our INEC is telling us no uploading of results on its website two and half months after elections.

Card reader is already a step ..the next move should be to introduce electronic voting and eliminate ballot box snatching in elections.

We learnt authoritatively that South Africa 2019 presidential election started from 7am-9pm yesterday for accreditation and it went on till almost midnight for everyone on queue before 9pm, and it was all still peaceful and no killings or police harassment were recorded. South Africa that I have been living in for the last 10years now has been able to demonstrate their commitment to the rules of laws and separation of powers.

This is the 3rd presidential election that I am witnessing in South Africa.

In 2009, Obj led the team of international observers same also in 2014, and we have had 2presidential election that the so called observers cannot influence credible election positively.

GEJ, led another team of observers on this year’s election. He attended the last campaign rallies of both ANC the mother party and EFF the faction party from ANC, organised in the same Soweto in Johannesburg not far from each others and there was no brake down of law and order.
We can keep calling ourselves giant of Africa, but I bet you we are not even up to South Africa Soweto.
Shame on all Nigeria politicians and political office holders.

Let us look at the collation centre, peaceful and relaxed. No inconclusive from any province because opposition is leading. Indeed, I believe now that Nigeria is a failed state.
