Governor Sim Fubara is currently meeting with the Service Chiefs and briefing them on the security situations in the state and the pipeline bombing incident.
He said , in what appears to be an orchestrated attempts to create insecurity in Rivers State and have a state of emergency imposed on the state, a militant group said to be loyal to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, is alleged to have carried out the bombing of a section of the Trans Niger Pipeline (TNP) in Bodo Community, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The pipeline bomb incident occurred late Monday night near the Bodo-Bonny Road, which is currently under construction.
Insiders say no Ijaw militant group was involved in the pipeline attack as all known Ijaw militant groups have been advised against such act.
“Ijaw militants won’t bomb such facilities. It is the ones in the creeks they would bomb if at all they want to go that route.
“At the moment, no Ijaw known militant group is involved in any form of bombing.
According to him, “what we have seen with that pipeline bombing is an attempt by Wike’s boys to create insecurity in the state, have a state of emergency declared so that Fubara can be removed.
“This is because it is going to be hard to impeach the Governor so they are trying to use any other means to achieve their agenda.”
