Prof. Ijaodola, SAN is dead, buried

Professor Rasheed Jimoh Ijaduola is dead.

Former Dean of Law at the Oba Erediuwa College of Law,Igbinedion University,Okada,Edo State, Prof. Ijaodola, SAN, was laid to rest on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in accordance with Islamic rites.

Professor Ijaduola was no doubt an authority. He was a rare personality who devoted his time to academics and community service. It is to the credit of the
ebullient academic with three doctorate degrees that two or three of his chidren who read Law completed their studies with first class both at Igbinedion University and at the Nigerian Law School.

Professor Ijaduola passed on yesterday and his passage has elicited inspiring tributes. The well deserved tribute by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in the announcement of his death is one of such tributes for a man who lived a worthy well:

NOTICE OF THE PASSING OF PROF. RASHEED JIMOH IJAODOLA, SAN

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Prof. Rasheed Jimoh Ijaodola, SAN, who departed this life on Sunday, March 16, 2025.

Prof. Ijaodola, SAN, was a distinguished Professor of law. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1984 and was elevated to the esteemed rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in the academic category in 2021.

He served as the Dean of Law at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, and was also a former Dean of Law at the College of Law, Igbinedion University.

Prof. Ijaodola held three Ph.D. degrees from the University of Jos, the University of Ilorin, and Igbinedion University. Notably, one of his Ph.D. degrees was in Christian Studies, despite being a practicing Muslim.

The late Prof. Ijaodola, SAN, authored over 14 books and published more than 100 articles and other scholarly works. Some of his notable legal publications include:
