The world awoke to the devastating news of Diogo Jota’s passing of the gifted Liverpool and Portugal forward, gone too soon at just 28, in a tragic car crash…The Lamborghini car broke into pieces.
Jota and Andre, 26, were driving towards Santander to catch a ferry to the UK, having opted against air travel due to Jota’s recent lung surgery.
Just got married five days before this tragedy…Diogo was adored by fans, loved by his teammates and cherished by everyone who worked with him during his time at Wolves.
A rising star, a fierce talent, a light extinguished far too early.
As we struggled to come to terms with that blow, another hit even harder, Peter Rufai, Nigeria’s legendary goalkeeper, a pillar of the Super Eagles, has also passed away at 61.
